Powering the Way Forward with Reliable and Sustainable Charging!
At The Renewables Centre, we are dedicated to providing convenient and reliable charging options for electric vehicle owners in the UK. Our home charging solutions allow you to charge your EV at your residential property, providing a hassle-free and cost-effective way to keep your vehicle-powered.
Where To Install?
Electric Vehicle home charging stations are typically installed at residential properties, including houses, apartments, and condominiums. The charging station can be installed in a variety of locations, including:
Many homeowners install the charging station in their garage, providing a secure and weather-protected location for charging their EV.
If you have a dedicated parking space in your driveway, you can install the charging station in a location that provides easy access to your EV.
Some homeowners with a carport opt to install the charging station conveniently within the carport structure.
n cases where a garage or dedicated parking space is unavailable, the charging station can be mounted on an external wall near the parking area.
Categorised by the power level and connector type they support:
Level 1 Charging Stations:
These stations use a standard 120-volt AC household outlet called a trickle charger. Level 1 charging is the slowest method, typically providing a charging rate of around 2 to 5 miles of range per hour. It is best suited for overnight charging or vehicles with lower daily driving requirements.
Level 2 Charging Stations:
Level 2 charging stations require a 240-volt AC power supply, similar to those used for electric dryers or ovens. These stations offer faster charging speeds, providing an average of 10 to 30 miles of range per hour of charging. Level 2 charging is ideal for homeowners with higher daily driving needs or those who prefer faster charging times.
DC Fast Charging Stations:
DC Fast Charging stations, or Level 3 or Superchargers, provide the fastest charging speeds. They use direct current (DC) power and can charge an EV much faster than Level 1 or Level 2 stations. DC Fast Charging stations are commonly found at public charging networks and are less commonly installed at residential properties.

The charging time depends on several factors, including the capacity of your vehicle’s battery, the charging station’s power output, and the current state of charge. As a general guideline, Level 1 charging typically takes around 8-12 hours for a full charge. Level 2 charging can provide a full charge in approximately 4-8 hours, depending on the EV and charging station capabilities.
Absolutely! Home charging is designed to provide convenient overnight charging. With a Level 2 charging station, you can plug in your EV before bed and wake up to a fully charged vehicle in the morning.
Yes, it is possible to use a charging station for multiple electric vehicles. Some charging stations support multiple charging ports, allowing you to charge multiple vehicles simultaneously. However, it’s essential to ensure that the charging station’s power output is sufficient to handle the charging needs of all the vehicles connected to it.
Generally, home charging stations are hard-wired or permanently installed at a specific location. If you move, relocating the charging station may not be practical. However, you can discuss the possibility of leaving the charging station for the next homeowner or consult with our experts to explore potential solutions based on your situation.
